Shepherd's Pie

This recipe is from Maggie Allen of Duncan, Oklahoma, who writes: "I have made this for several cookouts, family dinners, and a dish to take to a party. I was taught this recipe by my ex-Mother-in-Law. I haven't found many people that don't like this recipe. My new husband thought I was serving him a lamb dish when I told him it was Shepherd's Pie. We have had several laughs over this. By the way, neither one of us like lamb."

2 pounds ground sirloin
1 large onion, peeled and diced
1 bag frozen corn
1 can cream style corn
6 potatoes, peeled, cooked and mashed
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Brown the hamburger and onion together. Drain fat. Put in the bottom of a casserole pan.

Spread the bag of frozen corn on top of the hamburger mixture. Spread the can of cream style corn on top of that.

Spread the mashed potatoes on top of all. Bake for 1 hour, until the tips of the potatoes are starting to turn brown. You can add garlic salt or dried garlic to the hamburger if you like.
