Honey Apple Crisp

My Dad and I found this recipe when I was a kid, in a honey publication. It was a special treat to make because it was "our recipe". Liquid honey is the simplest to use, but you can melt creamed honey in the microwave, so you can pour it. Again, ice cream is the way to go to top off this dessert.

Ingredients:

6 cups apples (2 pounds)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup flour
2/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter

Peel and slice apples. Arrange in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Spread honey over top.

Mix flour, rolled oats, brown sugar and salt together. Cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse bread crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over top of apples.

Bake at 375 degrees F. for 45 to 50 minutes, until the apples are cooked and the crust is nice and brown. Serve warm.
