Cow Pies

This recipe is from Nancy J. of Chicago, who writes, "This is well known candy in Wisconsin, where it orginated. Our recipe is a clone. We raised our 2 boys on a Wisc.dairy farm.This recipe is aptly named, and a sweet treat."
 
Ingredients: Recommend this recipe to a friend

2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup slivered almonds

 

 
Directions:

In a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and shortening until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in raisins and almonds.

Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper. Let cool. Makes approx. 2 dozen.
