One of my favorite chilled squares, this is Auntie Bessie's recipe. Very rich and tasty.

Base:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Corn Flakes
2 cups Rice Krispies

Caramel Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk or cream
1 cup icing (confectioners') sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Peanut Butter Square
Directions:

Base:
Combine brown sugar and corn syrup. Heat over low heat on stovetop, or in the microwave, until the sugar is melted.

Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Fold in Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies.

Press into an 8 inch square pan.

Caramel Frosting:
Melt butter. Add brown sugar and stir over low heat for 2 minutes. Add milk and cook and stir until it comes to a boil.
