Chilled
Desserts
It's
summertime, and the weather is fine.
So
we don't want to spend all day in the kitchen preparing
meals. And we also want to spend more time with family
and friends. I know in my family we have a lot of excuses
for getting together during the summer months, and barbecue
or picnic potluck meals are the order of the day. And
what would a big get together be without dessert?
Here
are a lot of tried and true recipes for special chilled
or frozen desserts (at least a summer's worth). They
are all really easy to prepare, relying on convenience
foods like store bought angel food cake, packaged cookies,
Jello, frozen or canned fruit, marshmallows, chocolate
bars, and of course whipped cream or whipped topping.
But the ease of preparation and pantry ingredients belie
the impressive appearance and outstanding taste of any
of these desserts.
So
pick one, get the ingredients, spend a few minutes whipping
it up, refrigerate or freeze, go out, have fun, then
at serving time wait for the compliments to pour in!
