Our Donogh line in North America began with John Donogh, who came from Ireland and settled in Mono Township, Ontario. His parents were John and Margery Donogh.

Census records indicate that John and Margaret were born in Ireland and Wesleyan methodist. Marriage records show that "John Donagh and Margaret McKim were married in Drumcliff Parish, Co. Sligo on April 16, 1823, Margaret was of Drumcliff Parish and John was of Colloney Parish also in Co. Sligo." Margaret apparently died in the late 1860's, as there is a record of John marrying Esther Chambers Bloomer in 1868. Esther was born in Ireland, daughter of John and Mary Chambers.
